Huion introduces the third generation of its popular Kamvas Pro 24 4K pen display, the Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3), marking a bold step forward in its professional lineup. Built upon the solid foundation of its predecessor, this model brings noticeable refinements in precision, color accuracy, and responsiveness, powered by Huion’s most advanced PenTech 4.0 technology.

Staying true to Huion’s vision of making premium digital ink solutions accessible, the Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) reinforces its slogan — For the Explorer — crafted for artists who continue to push the boundaries of their craft. It is designed for illustrators, designers, and photographers, delivering an ultra-clear 4K workspace that feels natural, fluid, and ready for serious creation.

Build Quality

At first glance, the Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) maintains a clean and simple aesthetic that fits naturally into a professional studio setup. Measuring 589.2 mm × 364 mm × 22.7 mm and weighing 6.3 kg, it’s pretty slim for a 24-inch 4K pen display, offering a relatively small footprint on the desk and also easier storage when not in use. The working area of 527.04 mm × 296.46 mm provides ample room for retouching work. The thinner bezels may look nice, but you may find your wrist dangling when working near the edge.

Ventilation vents at the back of the display.

Overall, the display is solidly well-built, with ventilated vents behind the panel, presumably to help with cooling during extended use. At the back of the display, you can also find an integrated 20° stand. It offers a sturdy base for slanted use, though its low fixed angle makes it less ideal for practical usage unless you are seated high enough to look down at the display. Also, due to the shallow working angle, glare can appear depending on your lighting setup, though the anti-glare coating handles it quite well in most cases. Flipping the display to use it upright isn’t practical, since the ports will now sit at the bottom.

To solve this practicality issue, Huion also offers optional accessories such as the ST410/ST420 monitor arms or the ST100A adjustable stand, which provide up to an 80° range of motion. For those who prefer a third-party accessory, the display is also compatible with a VESA support stand or mount. It’s worth noting that there are no rubber feet at the bottom to keep the display stable, though it generally stays stable on flat surfaces.

On the surface, Huion has upgraded its screen technology to an etched “Canvas Glass” to give the screen a pleasant paper-like texture, delivering a natural feel closely mimicking traditional media. As mentioned earlier, the anti-glare coating does an admirable job diffusing light, reducing reflections and glare even under bright lighting. There is also full lamination on the screen that minimizes parallax caused by the gap between the pen tip and the cursor, ensuring a crisp and accurate drawing experience. Fingerprints can be cleaned off rather easily.

In terms of connectivity, there are three different ports — HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C — catering to different ways of connecting the display. If you choose to connect with HDMI or DisplayPort, you will also need to connect the USB-C to transmit the pen input data to your computer. Alternatively, you can choose to use only the USB-C cable as a clean single-cable solution. But bear in mind that it does not support power delivery, or, at the very least, provide sufficient power to keep up the battery level of your laptop once you run a heavier task. On the side of the display, you can find two USB-A 2.0 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, though the USB-A ports don’t seem to support data transfer; they can be used to charge or connect the keydial remote. There’s no built-in speaker, but the headphone jack is a welcome inclusion for those who work with video.

The Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) comes bundled with two battery-free EMR technology pens — the PW600 and PW600S (thicker and slimmer). Both are well-made, have the same build quality, and have a nice touch to them — light enough yet not cheap — though the buttons are a little soft and more prone to accidental clicks. Both of them feature eraser tips at the end and an exchangeable pen tip that supports up to 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity. The PW600 adds an extra programmable button, offering more control options for complex workflows. Both pens deliver smooth and consistent performance with excellent accuracy, thanks to the new PenTech 4.0 system that enhances pressure response and reduces latency. Note that the pen is required to navigate the on-screen display (OSD) settings for the display.

Both pens and the extra nibs come in a well-designed pen case that also doubles as a pen stand. A thoughtful inclusion, since there is no way to attach the pen directly to the monitor for quick access — I would have much preferred the latter to keep the desk cleaner. Looking beyond that, the case stand does hold either pen in either orientation, making it easier to store the pen after use. You can also locate the pen nib removal tool at the bottom of the case, which I did find surprisingly effective in removing the nibs.

Rounding out the package is the Keydial Remote, a Bluetooth shortcut controller designed to complement the display. It has a 30-hour battery life and charges up in 2.5 hours. Besides that, it also offers six groups of customizable settings, allowing you to map functions for your favorite software. Holding it in hand, it is quite compact in size, though the button feel is somewhat cheap, and the rotary dial cannot be de-clicked, which can be a little annoying when you are working in a quiet room. There is also no magnetic or physical bracket to attach it to the monitor, which is not a big deal but something to note if you like working that way. There is also a small black-and-white screen that displays the mode you are in and button labels.

Features

The Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) features a 23.8-inch 4K UHD display (3840 × 2160) that surprisingly still retains its sharpness and clarity despite being laminated with an etched glass surface, unless viewed from extreme angles. The IPS panel provides a wide 89°/89° horizontal and 89°/89° vertical viewing angle (CR > 10) and a strong 1200:1 contrast ratio, ensuring both consistency and depth across the screen.

The display also supports 10-bit color depth from its 8-bit panel by implementing Frame Rate Control (FRC) technology that visually mimics 10-bit color performance, delivering smooth gradations and vibrant tones. Supporting up to 1.07 billion colors and 140% sRGB coverage (98% Adobe RGB / 98% DCI-P3 / 98% Display-P3), the display offers flexibility across different workflows. Every unit is also factory-calibrated (ΔE < 1) and even includes a printed calibration report, ensuring color accuracy right out of the box. Switching between color spaces is easy via the OSD menu. On top of that, there is even a black-and-white mode for photographers who work on monochrome images — something quite unique in displays. The display is also HDR-capable, which helps preserve contrast and highlight detail in bright or shadowed regions, enhancing both visual fidelity and editing precision.

Despite supporting HDR, the display’s brightness peaks at 220 nits, which is sufficient for most studio environments, as I typically work with a brightness of around 120–160 nits to maintain a much more accurate gamma and color temperature. But if you work in a much brighter environment, it can be quite limiting. Note that the screen does warm up a little, consistently across the entire panel with extended usage, but nothing too alarming if you use the provided drawing glove. The refresh rate feels smooth, with no visible “jello” effect or lag when switching windows rapidly.

Huion did mention that the Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) supports a ten-point capacitive touchscreen finger input, allowing you to pan, zoom, and rotate directly on-screen. The touch screen feature is compatible with Windows 10 or later. The touch function is activated by a sliding switch at the top right of the display, making it versatile for those who prefer not to have a touch screen to switch off the function.

Now, let’s talk about Huion’s latest pen technology. At the heart of this generation lies Huion’s most advanced pen technology yet, PenTech 4.0. It offers up to 16,000 pressure levels and ±60° tilt support, delivering ultra-precise, natural strokes that feel very close to drawing on paper. They have also improved the linear pressure curve and lowered the initial activation force to as low as 2 g. This, in practice, allows you to perform more delicate lines and gradual shading with your drawing.

User Experience

Physically, I find that the Huion Kamvas Pro 24 (Gen 3) strikes a fine balance between size and practicality, as the physical setup process does not feel that hectic, possibly due to its size. Although for the software side of things, it can be hard to diagnose what is wrong and why something is not working. Despite being a 24-inch pen display, the overall footprint remains surprisingly compact thanks to its thin bezel and slim profile design. It fits neatly on most desks, but when working near the edges, the thinner bezel might not offer enough palm resting area, causing your wrist to dangle uncomfortably.

From the way it is designed with the integrated 20° stand, I would assume it will be great as a second monitor complementing your other standing monitor. However, I personally am not a fan of the stand. Unless you have a large desk to fit the display and your keyboard, the fixed tilt can feel restrictive. Not to mention, you will also need a higher seating position allowing a steep downward viewing angle. For anyone else who will be using it as a primary creative display, I highly recommend getting a VESA-compatible arm or an adjustable stand such as Huion’s ST100A. This adds much-needed flexibility and comfort for longer workflows.

When it comes to performance, the startup time is surprisingly quick, and the pen experience is excellent. Pen input feels smooth, sensitive, and highly responsive — matching the precision you would expect from a professional display. I was able to easily clean up distractions from my images using the Clone Stamp tool found in Adobe Photoshop, coupled with the pressure sensitivity. Brush strokes also feel natural, with every stroke and pressure registering immediately with minimal lag. The monitor’s viewing angles are consistent, with softening appearing at extreme angles — a common issue with pen displays. Colors do stay accurate across the screen, making it suitable for high-end photo retouching work.
