The Think Tank Walker Pro 24L is a bag designed for versatility, durability, and comfort. Its sleek profile is ideal for the photographer on the go. Does the bag hold up to its predecessor?
Who Is Think Tank?
Ask Think Tank who they are, and they will say, “We are a group of designers and professional photographers on a mission to design and create the highest-quality travel gear for the world’s traveling observer.” Founded in 2005, Think Tank desires to help photographers see the world and capture moments while creating the highest-quality travel gear. Think Tank has become the leading company for high-quality travel gear for the most dedicated photographers and professionals.
Overview
The Think Tank Walker Pro 24L is designed to carry a lot of gear while keeping comfort and versatility at the forefront of the design. It is built with the highest-quality materials and is tough. The bag has multiple attachment points for tripods, stands, and pockets for accessories and water bottles. Think Tank had professional and avid photographers in mind when designing this series of bags.

Design and Build Quality
Think Tank is highly regarded in professional photography for designing and manufacturing some of the industry’s most durable and well-built bags. The redesigned StreetWalker Pro series is no exception. The bag is made with several types of poly and nylon, including a durable water-repellent (DWR) coating, which allows the bag to be in the worst environments while keeping your gear safe. The bag includes a seam-sealed rain cover for the rainiest days while out adventuring. The included rain cover is a big bonus from Think Tank.
Built with the highest-quality materials, the Walker Pro series uses YKK RC Fuse zippers—another great feature of the bag. These zippers are heavy-duty and can take a beating while holding up. I owned the previous version of this bag and never had an issue until I had worn out the bag, about 10-plus years. It also sports a flat-bottom design, another plus for me. Nothing is more frustrating than setting your bag on the ground and having it fall over. The design includes a well-thought-out feature of a trolley handle pass-through to combine with your rolling luggage.
The bag has a sleek design and is discreet in color and style, blending into any urban environment where security is a concern. The bag is available in black and no other colors, which is to be expected since the bag is tailored to the professional photographer. We already have enough colored camera bags in the world.
Think Tank has always considered ergonomics and comfort when designing its bags. The bag sports a breathable Ultra Spandura and 320G air mesh back panel, keeping your back cool and dry. The new and redesigned harness system allows you to carry it comfortably due to the wide dual-density shoulder straps and contoured back panel, which provide all-day comfort.

Capacity and Storage
There is no shortage of storage with this bag. I have a battery grip on almost every camera and sometimes struggle to find bags that have the depth to accommodate camera bodies with grips. The bag is designed with a full front panel that fully unzips, allowing for easy access and organization. The bag was designed with several features, including a hidden pocket for essential documents such as passports and currency. The front flap also includes an internal zipper pocket, securing smaller items and accessories. The bag has a lockable zipper on the main camera compartment for extra security.
Usability in the Field
A bag designed around the working professional photographer, usability is a 20 out of 10. Think Tank designs its bags intentionally and with users in mind. The ability to easily access gear in the field is essential, and the bag design does just that. If you’re out in the field, the bag will be comfortable for a full day, and I have never had any issues with it being uncomfortable for an extended period.
As previously mentioned, the bag can hold camera bodies with the battery grip installed or larger bodies like the Nikon Z9 and Canon EOS R1 or R3. The deep compartments also allow for the vertical storage of larger lenses.
When it comes to carrying a tripod, the bag has three options. You can carry the tripod on either the right or left side by using the water bottle pocket or from the front with the drop cup. The Walker series is one of the easiest bags to strap a tripod onto and carry. The length of the bag and my tripod match up, and the tripod does not hang off the bottom of the bag for the most part.
Pros
- Build Quality
- Included rain cover
- Multiple ways to carry a tripod
Cons
- I would like the 16L and 24L to have the same layout as the 30L
The Verdict
If you’re looking for a strong, durable, and well-thought-out bag, one of the three sizes of the Walker series will suit your needs and become a very versatile bag that will work no matter what type of photography you choose. The bag will also serve your needs for many years and hold up to the most rigorous environments. The bag has a ton of considerable upgrades from the original StreetWalker series and was due for a makeover. This is a fantastic bag, and I highly recommend one of the three sizes—or all three if it fits your needs!
