If you want to build a local photography community, you now have an opportunity for funding. Aftershoot has launched the second cohort of its Create Together Fund (CTF), committing $1 million to support 750 photography events worldwide. By the end of 2025, the initiative aims to bring photographers together through workshops, meetups, shoots and more.
Aftershoot first introduced the Create Together Fund in 2024. In its inaugural year, the fund helped 27 community leaders organize events in 15 cities across four countries, bringing together over 600 photographers. The goal was to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within local photography communities.
Building on that success, Cohort 2 expands the program’s reach to the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand. Grants of $1,000 or $2,000 are available for smaller events, while $5,000 grants will be awarded to larger gatherings based on the strength of the proposal.
Our goal has always been to support photographers – not just in their post-production workflow, but in their growth, connections, and creative journey,” said Harshit Dwivedi, Founder of Aftershoot. “We saw how impactful Cohort 1 was, and we can’t wait to help even more photographers bring their community-driven ideas to life with Cohort 2.”
Who can apply?
The Aftershoot Create Together Fund is open to professional photographers, photography educators, and emerging community leaders. It’s important to note that your event is eligible only if it’s held in person. The events can include workshops, meetups, photo walks, and styled shoots.
Justin Benson, Co-Founder of Aftershoot, emphasized the importance of in-person collaboration:
“The best ideas come to life when photographers come together. The Create Together Fund is our way of giving back to the community, helping photographers turn their visions into real-world opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.
How to apply
Applications for Cohort 2 are open now and will close on February 28, 2025. If you’re interested, you can visit the Aftershoot Create Together Fund website for more details and to submit your application.
